The gentle hills and flats of Anglesey, together with the quiet country lanes and cycleways offer the perfect destination for a leisurely family bike-ride. Visit the historic Penmon Priory and beautiful Black Point lighthouse near Puffin Island, a popular destination for artists and photographers alike, just a few miles gentle cycle ride from Beaumaris along a designated cycle-way. A cafe awaits at Penmon for a light refreshment to break your journey or we can even provide packed lunches for those who prefer to snack at the scenic picnic spots along the way.
Or try your hand at kayaking, whilst taking in the stunning mountain scenery of the Menai Straits. These waters offer kayaking for all abilities for young and old alike. Our fleet of very stable sit-on-top kayaks are perfect for kayakers of all levels; even if you have never tried kayaking before. Our double-handed kayaks allow a parent and child to kayak together making the experience accessible for the whole family. Novice kayakers can explore the sheltered, calm waters of the bay at Beaumaris amidst stunning mountain scenery, between the Pier at Beaumaris and beach at Gallows Point, whilst the more experienced can venture out along the Menai Straits to the awe-inspiring Menai Bridge built by Telford in the last century. You can even stop off for a drink or a bite to eat at a local pub at the water’s edge near Bangor pier. Expert kayakers may prefer to kayak north from Beaumaris alongside seals and sea-birds at Puffin island, a truly magical wildlife experience.
